As an individual therapist, I work from a supportive relational position, trying to engage collaboratively with clients to reduce symptoms and improve overall quality of life. Some of the issues I specialize in are mood disorders, relationship problems, eating disorders, long term effects of sexual abuse and other traumas, and anxiety disorders.
Psychotherapy is a unique and personal process. The attempt to understand ourselves in a new and deeper way is often difficult, but can be exciting and invigorating as well. Individual psychotherapy offers the opportunity to spend intense focused time with another person opening up parts of the self that we ofter guard. Through exploration of thoughts, feelings, memories, relationships, dreams and the relationship with me, I try to unpack some of the many factors which affect and potentially restrict clients’ vibrancy and pleasure in life.
